Custom builder Francesco transformed a little Honda CD250 into a road-going cafe racer for himself. Named MotoLeggera, the custom motorcycle was designed to pay tribute to the Italian race bikes of the 60s. The old motorcycle was sourced from an old horse farm. The small motorcycle was in a very dilapidated form with broken plastic parts, bent rims and smokey engine.
To reduce the motorcycle weight from 145kg to below 100kg, the designer started with bare frame and added just what is absolute neccesary. A new aluminum tail was designed. The engine was given a mild port job to bump up the compression. The carbs were re-jetted and re-tuned to cope up with the extra fuel flow requirement. The original drum brakes were replaced with factory disc combo brakes.
